What it is like
A herb. It grows each year from seed. It grows about 30 cm tall. The leaves are oval and have teeth long the edge. They are 2-3 cm long. The flowers occur singly and are 1.5 cm long.
There are 150 Mimulus species. It has also been put in the family Scrophulariaceae.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in water or damp ground. It grows in wetlands. It grows in Patagonian steppe in Argentina. In Argentina it grows from sea level to 4,500 m above sea level.
