What it is like
A shrub. It grows 2.5 m high. The leaves have small spines around the edge. The flowers are yellow with 7-14 petals.
Where it is found
It is a warm temperate plant. In Chile it grows in coastal areas from sea level to 500 m above sea level. It grows in drier areas where there is a winter rainfall of 400-800 mm. It can grow in shade. It suits hardiness zone 9. It can tolerate an occasional light frost.
