What it is like
A shrub. It grows 50 cm tall. The leaves are oblong and 18-35 cm long by 7-14 cm wide. They have 5-7 pairs of leaflets. The leaflets are 1.5 cm wide.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows on the edges of forests and near streams. It grows between 200-1,200 m above sea level in central China.
