What it is like
A tree. It grows 8-20 m tall. The bark is rough and grey with pale patches where flakes have fallen off. The leaves are alternate and with leaflets along the stalk. These are shiny and oval and have prominent veins. The leaflets can be 8-18 cm long and 3.5-8.5 cm wide. Male and female flowers are separate near the ends of branches. The flower petals are a dull cream colour. The mature fruit are blackish-green.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It has been recorded on Santa Cruz and Temotu in Solomon Islands. It occurs between 100-250 m above sea level.
