What it is like
A woody creeper. It is robust and has tendrils. Young branches have rusty hairs. The leaf stalks are 8-11 cm long. The leaf blade is heart shaped and 18-21 cm long by 16-18 cm wide. They have a rusty covering underneath when young. There are many flowers in a group. The pod is strap shaped and 18-30 cm long by 4-6 cm wide. It is woody. There are 3 to 4 seeds.

It is a tropical plant. In southern China it grows in mountain forests between 100-800 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
