What it is like
A straggling shrub. The leaves are alternate. They are 5-11 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. They are covered with silvery scales underneath. The flowers are greenish-white or yellow. They have silvery scales outside. The fruit is oblong. It is red with silvery scales.
There are 45 Elaeagnus species.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in Nepal between 1500-2600 m altitude.
