What it is like
A bamboo. It keeps growing from year to year. It forms dense tufts. The stems are straight and almost solid. They grow 12 m tall and are 5 cm across. The leaves have sharp edges and taper to a point. They are 12-25 cm long by 2-3 cm wide. Only occasionally it develops a long flower panicle. The spikelets are 8-12 mm long.
