What it is like
A large tufted bamboo. It grows 15-30 m tall. The stems (culms) are 8-25 cm across. The internodes are 45 cm long. The culm sheaths are 38 cm long by 30 cm wide. They are covered with golden hairs. The leaves are 33-38 cm long by 5-8 cm wide. They are broadly sword shaped and rounded at the base.
