What it is like
A herb that keeps growing from year to year. It is 20-40 cm high. The rhizomes or underground stems are cylinder shaped and 5-10 mm across. The stems are mottled purple. The flowers are white.
Also put in the family Liliaceae.
Where it is found
It is a subtropical plant. It grows in rocky places and shady places along streams between 300-2,500 m above sea level. It grows in warmer regions of China. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
