What it is like
A trailing shrub. The branches are hairy when young. The leaves have leaflets along the stalk. They are 3.5-8 cm long by 3-7 cm wide. They are oval and coarsely lobed. The flowers are large and cream. They have a scent. The flowers occur in many flowered panicles.
There are about 250 Clematis species.
Where it is found
A tropical and subtropical plant. In Nepal plants grow between 1000-3300 m altitude. They grow in moist, open places. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
