What it is like
An evergreen tree. It grows 10-30 m high. The trunk is 50-60 cm across. The leaves are 5-8 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. Flowers are in groups in the axils of leaves. They are yellowish-green. The fruit are oval and yellow.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the humid forest near the Atlantic on wet flood plains up to 200 m altitude.

How it is grown
Plants are grown from seeds. Seeds are collected from ripe fruit by shaking the fruit over canvas and then placing them in plastic bags to partly decompose before washing out the seeds. Seeds need to be planted fresh. Seedlings emerge in 40-50 days.
Plants grow at a moderate rate.
