What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It grows from 5 to 25 m tall. The trunk can be 8-40 cm across. Male and female flowers are on separate plants. The flowers and fruit are produced on the trunk. The fruit are about 3 cm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in rain forest and along rivers. It can be on the edge of mangrove swamps. It grows from sea level to 600 m above sea level.
