What it is like
A grass. It forms tufts. It has a scaly rhizome. The stalks are 100-220 cm tall and 4-8 mm wide. The leaves are 10-35 cm long by 3-14 mm wide. The flowers are in an open panicle. These are 18-50 cm long.
It has a C3 pathway.
