What it is like
A creeping herb. It keeps growing from year to year. The roots are slender. The creeping branches are from 8-60 cm long. The leaves near the roots have 5 lobes like fingers on a hand. The flowers occur singly opposite the leaf. The petals are yellow.

It is a temperate plant. It grows in damp meadows and near lakes and river banks from 300-2100 m altitude in N China. It grows in wetlands.
