What it is like
A bamboo. It grows 1-3 m tall. The stems are 3-6 mm across. The internodes are green and often have purple spots. They are 15-20 cm long. There are 2-4 leaves on the end branches. They are 3-9 cm long by 1 cm wide.
Where it is found
It is a subtropical plant. It grows in subalpine confier forests between 2,300-3,500 m above sea level. It grows in Sichuan and Yunnan in China.
