What it is like
A herb or shrub. It grows 50-100 cm tall. It has a strong woody rootstock. The middle leaves are divided with 3 or 4 pairs of segments. These are 15-30 mm long by 1 mm wide.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows on dunes, in desert areas and dry slopes from low elevations to 1,500 m above sea level in north China.
