What it is like

A herb. It forms tubers that are round and flattened and 2-6 cm across. There are 2 leaves. The leaf stalk is 35-93 cm long. The leaves have 7-17 leaflets. The leaflets are narrowly oval and 9-18 cm long by 4-9 cm wide. They can have teeth along the edge. The flower stalk is 30-80 cm long.

There are about 150-170 Arisaema species.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. In north China it grows in forests below 500 m above sea level.
