What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It grows 12 m tall. The trunk can be 12 cm across. The branches are angular or have ridges. The flowering shoots are in the axils of the leaves near the ends of branches. They are hairy and in groups 40 cm long by 50 cm wide. The flowers have 5 parts. The seeds are black and 9 mm long.
