What it is like
A low shrub. It grows 1-6 m high. The leaves are oval and rigid and have a pointed tip. They are softly hairy underneath. The flowers are white. The fruit are green and 6 cm long. They turn orange as they ripen. The pulp is sweet and edible.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in the grassy flooded meadows in the lowlands of Brazil. It grows from 110-1,100 m above sea level.
