What it is like
A shrub or tree. It can be 4-17 m tall. The trunk can be 38 cm across. The young twigs are pale yellow with rusty hairs. The flowers are yellow with a red calyx. The fruit are hairy. They are red and turn black.
There are about 100-170 Antidesma species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in rainforest. It can grow from sea level to 1,700 m above sea level. It occurs in the Sepik in Papua New Guinea.
