What it is like

A tree. It grows 5-6 m tall. It is covered with brown hairs. The leaves are 32-35 cm long by 16-18 cm wide. They are papery. The fruit is a flattened round shape and black with yellow hairs. It is 3-3.5 cm across.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It grows in secondary forest in Peru between 250-300 m altitude.
