What it is like

A tree. It grows 5-7 m tall. Young plants parts have rusty coloured hairs. The leaves are oblong and 7-8 cm long by 2 cm wide. They are smooth on both surfaces. The flowers are silky. The fruit occur singly. The fruit are oval and spiny and 2.5 cm long. The seeds are yellow and 7-8 mm long.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. In Colombia it grows between 25-600 m above sea level.
