What it is like
A tree. It grows about 6-20 m tall. The trunk is 50 cm across. The bark is smooth with scattered lenticels. The leaves are oblong to sword shaped and 9-23 cm long by 5-8 cm wide. There are 10-24 pairs of side veins. The flowering shoots are 8-18 cm long and 13-25 cm wide. They are hairy. The fruit is kidney shaped and 2-3 cm long by 2-2.6 cm wide. They are green.
There are 8-11 Anacardium species. They grow in tropical America.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in the flooded forests of the Amazon.
