What it is like
A ginger family herb. The false stems are 2 m tall. The leaves do not have stalks. The leaf blade is 1 m long and 13 cm wide. The flowering stalk is erect and the flowering section is 25 cm long. The flowers are densely arranged. The fruit is round and 2.5 cm across. It is densely hairy.
