What it is like

A ginger family herb. The false stems are 2 m tall. The leaves have short stalks. The leaf blades are sword shaped and 50 cm long by 10 cm wide. The spikes are 15 cm long. There are many flowers densely arranged.

It is a natural hybrid between Alpinia shimadae and Alpinia uraiensis.
