What it is like
A ginger family herb. The false stems are 1-2 m tall. The leaves have almost no stalks. The leaf sheath has hairs. The leaf blade is narrowly sword shaped and 45 cm long by 5.5 cm wide. The fruit is round and 2.5 mm across. It has black seeds.
Where it is found
It is a subtropical plant. It grows in mountain regions in southern Taiwan between 400-900 m above sea level.
