What it is like
A ginger family herb. The false stems are 1.5-2.5 m tall. The leaf sheath has fine lines. The leaf stalk is 3-4 cm long. The leaves are narrowly sword shaped and 40-80 cm long by 10-18 cm wide. They are hairy underneath. The base is wedge shaped and the edges have fine hairs. The flowering stalks are 15-25 cm long. The flowers are white and red. They are tube shaped and 2 cm long.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in forests at about 800 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
